What’s an Estimate Template?

An estimate template is a premade estimate with some details already filled in to save you time.

Why Use Estimate Templates?

If you create similar estimates often or want to pre-fill certain information, templates are a great way to streamline the process. Instead of starting from scratch every time, you can just pull up a saved template and tweak it as needed.

How to Create an Estimate Template

1. Go to your Account Settings > Estimates > Templates section. Click +Add New Estimate Template.

2. Enter the name of your template, and select which estimate type it is associated with.

3. A blank estimate will open and you can start adding in your items. Once you have finished, click the Save button. 

Using Smart Templates

All new templates will be made using our Smart Template functionality. Smart Templates are designed to streamline template creation and ensure consistency.

If you’re working with an older, customized template, you’ll see a banner at the top letting you know.


Please note: Customized templates cannot be converted into Smart Templates. To utilize the Smart Template functionality, you must recreate the template manually.


Create a Template From a Current Estimate

You can also create a template from an estimate, instead of creating it directly from the settings.

1. Click the drop-down arrow beside the send button and select Save as Template.

2. Add a name for the template and choose the estimate type you want it assigned to. Click Confirm to save the estimate as a template. You can then adjust the template by editing it in your settings.
