Payment Requests allow you to streamline your payment process by requesting multiple payments on a single invoice. With Payment Requests, you have the flexibility to receive progress and deposit payments, all while keeping your customer in the loop with just one invoice.

How to create a Payment Request

  1. Start by creating an invoice, scroll down to the Payments section, and click Add/Request Payment.

  2. Choose Request Payment.

  3. On the Configure Payment screen, you'll find two options for your payment request. Let's explore them:

    a) Full Amount: If you want to request the complete sum mentioned in the invoice, select this option. This is perfect if you are looking to collect the entire remaining balance.

    b) Custom: This option allows you to personalize your payment request. You can request a deposit or progress payment in either dollar ($) or percentage (%) format.

  4. Toggle the Accept Credit Cards on if you want to receive payment via credit card. Add in any notes that might be important for the customer to know.

  5. When your Payment Request is ready, click the Next button to craft an email to your customer. Click Send Payment Request to send the request via email or text.

Payment Request Status

After you've sent a request, you'll see it pop up in the Payments section with the status of Pending. When the customer makes a payment using a credit card through Stripe, it will be marked as Paid automatically. However, if your customer prefers to pay with cash, a check, or another method, you can manually mark the request as paid by following these steps:

  1. Click the three dots located to the right of the payment request.

  2. Choose the Mark as Paid option.

  3. Decide whether to process a credit card payment on site or record payment through alternative methods like cash, check, electronic transfer, etc.

  4. Once the payment is logged, the request will be marked as paid.
