PaintScout will not automatically calculate prep hours; you'll have to include them manually in your estimate. In each area of the estimate, you'll find a section for prep hours. Simply add the required prep hours directly to the quote.

The system uses the internal hourly rate you've set to calculate the price for prep time. This amount is then combined with the overall application/work time and any materials you've included to determine the total price for that substrate.

How to add Prep Hours to your Estimate

  1. Select the substrate to which you want to assign prep hours.

  2. Enter the number of prep hours in the designated box. Keep in mind that the hourly rate will be applied to determine the cost. For instance, if you allocate 2 hours of prep for a substrate, it will be 2 hrs x $65 hourly = $130.00 in total for prep.

  3. Click Confirm, and you'll see the prep hours incorporated into your area.
