What to put in your Estimator Notes

Your notes can serve multiple purposes. You might use them to quickly capture dimensions or extra details for later use when putting together an estimate. In a nutshell, it's your space to store any information related to the customer or estimate that you find important!

  • Dimensions and Measurements: Quickly jot down measurements and dimensions related to the project for easy reference during the quoting process.

  • Customer Preferences: Record specific preferences or requests from the customer that may not be evident in the initial project details.

  • Material Specifications: Note any special materials or finishes requested by the customer that need to be factored into the estimate.

  • Special Instructions: Include any unique instructions or special considerations that you need to communicate with the team when working on the project.

  • Follow-up Actions: Use the notes to outline any follow-up actions needed, such as additional site visits or consultations with the customer.

  • Timeline Considerations: Document any time constraints or specific deadlines that should be considered during the project planning.

  • Reference Codes: Assign reference codes or project identifiers within the notes for easy cross-referencing with other documentation.

  • Supplier Information: Store details about preferred suppliers or specific products the customer has requested.
