Managing Tasks

Manage your task workflow in PaintScout -- create, edit, complete, and delete tasks linked to deals for organized follow-ups and reminders.

Written by Nastassia Reicher

Tasks in PaintScout help you track follow-ups, reminders, and job-related to-dos. Every task is linked to a deal and automatically connected to the related contact and company.

Use single tasks for one-off work. Use Checklists when you need the same task list on multiple deals.

This article gives you an overview of managing tasks, with links to detailed guides for each action.

➕ Creating Tasks

Add new tasks to remind yourself or assign them to a teammate. How to Create a Task >

📑 Using Checklists

Use checklists for repeat workflows like handoffs, kickoff steps, and closeout. Apply a checklist from a deal's Tasks tab, then assign owners and due dates to each task. How to Use Checklists >

✏️ Editing Tasks

Update a task's title, due date, description, or assigned user if details change. How to Edit a Task >

✅ Completing Tasks

Check off a task when it’s finished. Completed tasks move to the Completed tab with a strikethrough. If you mark one complete by mistake, you can reopen it. How to Mark a Task as Complete >

🗑 Deleting Tasks

Remove a task if it's no longer needed. Deleted tasks are removed from the Tasks page, but activity history remains on the related Deal, Contact, and Company. How to Delete a Task >

📋 Viewing Tasks in Context

Tasks appear not only on the Tasks page, but also in the:

  • Deal page (Tasks section + Activity)

  • Contact page (Tasks section + Activity)

  • Company page (Tasks section + Activity)

Pro tip: Use single tasks for one-time reminders. Use checklists when your team repeats the same process across deals.
