What is an Area Name?

An area is any room or surface (ex: bedroom, whole house, deck, etc.) in or outside the home. You can adjust the dimensions of a specific room, wall, or section that you are painting. Areas go hand in hand with production rates. Within each area, you can add surfaces you will be painting (walls, ceilings, windows, etc.)

Area labels created in the Settings will be available to use when you're creating an estimate. For efficiency, create commonly used area labels within the Settings to avoid having to custom create them on the estimate.

➡️ Skip to the 5:34 timestamp in the video below.

How to Add an Area in the Settings

1. Click the person icon in the top right and go to your Account Settings > Production Rates > Area Names section.

2. Click the Add New Area button.

3. Name your area and choose which estimate types you want it to be available on.

Active Toggle

When this is enabled, the area is available for selection on the estimate. Deactivate it if you no longer want it to show as an option when creating estimates.

Area Organization

When selecting areas on your estimate, they will show up in the same order as they are in the Settings. We suggest moving the ones you use most often toward the top, so they appear first. This is especially useful when using a tablet/phone.

Click (and hold for a second) the area you want to move and drag and drop it to where you want it placed. Make sure to click Save once you have finished organizing!
