Please Note: Any adjustments made to the estimate settings will only affect future estimates, not previous or draft estimates.

Hourly Rate

This indicates the rate you are charging the customer per hour. Add in your default and enable the checkbox to allow your team to customize the hourly rate on individual estimates.

Tax Rates

Add in the tax rate you would like included on new estimates.

To add additional tax rates, click the +Add Tax Rate button. If you've enabled the Include on New Estimates button, this rate will be automatically applied when you create a new estimate. Tax rates without this option enabled will still be accessible in the menu sidebar for you to choose from.

To remove a tax rate, just click on the circle icon on the right.

P.S. You can also use tax rates to add other percentage charges to your estimate! For example, a credit card fee, garbage disposal fee, etc.

Discounts

You have the option to set up discounts either as a percentage (%) or a specific dollar amount ($). Customize your list of eligible discounts, making them accessible for selection on individual estimates from the menu sidebar.

  • If you want a discount to automatically apply to all new estimates, check the Include on New Estimates box.

  • To delete a discount, just click the circle icon on the right.

Rounding Style/Accuracy

Hours

Select your preferred rounding increment - this is for determining painting hours based on your rates. You have the choice of 1 hour, 0.5 hours (30 minutes), 0.25 hours (15 minutes), or even no rounding at all (for precise numbers).

Product & Materials

  • Round to nearest unit: to the nearest integer. Ex: 2.2 gal would round to 2 gal.

  • Always round upwards: to the highest integer. Ex: 2.2 gal would round to 3 gal.

Price

Customize your price rounding preferences for surfaces, line items, and your overall total. Take your pick from options like No rounding, Round to the nearest dollar, or Always round upwards.

Customer Accepted Options

Check this box if you want your customers to be able to add their own options to the estimate before accepting it. +Learn more about Customer Accepted Options.
Once enabled this will be available for all existing and new estimates.

Client Visible Expiry

Enable this checkbox if you would like your estimates to expire after a certain period of time. Once the estimate has expired, the customer will no longer be able to view it, they will see a screen prompting them to contact their estimator.

Once enabled, the expiry date on your estimate will show as TBD until the estimate is sent.
