To make sure your material calculations happen automatically when you're creating estimates, be sure to assign a default product to your production rates! We recommend picking your most commonly used products for this.

Start by getting your product list into the Products section of your Account Settings.

If you haven't added any products into PaintScout yet, check out how to do that ๐Ÿ‘‡

How to Assign Products to Production Ratesย

1. After your materials have been input into the Products section of your Account Settings, go to the Production Rates tab.ย

2. Select the Rate Category you would like to start with.ย

3. Choose the rate you want to add a product to.ย

4. Now, you can enter your default product in the provided box! Click anywhere inside the box to trigger a pop-up of your product list and choose your default product. The system will automatically use the coverage rate specified on the selected product. If you need to customize the coverage rate, perhaps for a spray production rate, feel free to use the coverage rate box provided below.

5. Now, when a surface is added to an area, both the labor and material columns will calculate automatically!

How to add or change a default product on an estimate

1. Open the area that has the substrate you want to adjust the product for and select which surface you want to change the product for.

2. Choose Select Product to populate your product list and choose your preferred product.

3. Choose Clear Product if you would like to change or delete the assigned product.
