What is a CSV file?

A CSV file is a basic text list with data separated by commas. it might look something like this:

Mary Smith, mary@example.com, 123-456-7890, 123 Somewhere Street NW.

Why is this format useful?

CSV files make data easy to read for different computer programs. You can take complicated data from one app, save it as a CSV file, and then use it in another app. In short, it helps you move data between different computer programs.

How can you use it?

You can open a CSV file with simple text editors like Notepad or with spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, or Google Sheets. This flexibility allows you to use the data in your preferred software!
